How many floats are too many?
This question is often asked when someone discovers that there are two hundred flows and becomes concerned. The number itself is not the problem.
Do you know which flows exist? Does each of them have a named owner who still works here? Can someone explain what each one does? If the answer to all three is yes, two hundred flows is perfectly fine. If the answer to any one of them is no, twenty is too many.
No one dares to turn anything off because no one knows what it will affect. Errors are discovered by users rather than through alerts. And two people have built almost the same thing without knowing about each other.
Go through the list, identify those that haven't run in six months, and investigate them. In our experience, a large proportion can be turned off without anyone noticing—they were created to meet a need that no longer exists.
