What is a price list in Dynamics 365?
A price list specifies the cost of each product. The system supports multiple price lists, allowing different customers to have different prices without any manual calculations.
Standard, reseller, and key account. Or one per currency if you sell in multiple countries. The price list can be set as the default for the customer, so the correct price is automatically applied when the salesperson creates a quote.
If the price list is missing a product the salesperson needs to use, she will not be able to add it—and the error message rarely explains why. When you add new products, they must be added to all relevant price lists.
Every price list must be updated whenever prices change. Five lists are manageable; twenty create more work than anyone has time for, leaving prices out of date—which is worse than having fewer lists.
