What is the difference between Dynamics 365 charts and Power BI?
Both visualize the same data, but they are used for different purposes.
Created in minutes, updated in real time, and available where the user works. Clicking the chart filters the list below. For daily use, this is often better than a report.
Can combine Dynamics 365 with financial data, online store data, and more. Handles complex calculations and historical comparisons. Requires a data model and someone to own it.
If the figure is needed for the work right now, create a chart. If it will be used in a management review or combined with other sources, use Power BI.
A common mistake is to move everything to Power BI because it is more powerful. This prevents the salesperson from clicking through to the record, and the report becomes something you look at rather than something you work in.
