Why do flows fail?
A flow that has been running for months rarely stops at random. The causes tend to be the same.
By far the most common. The flow runs using a login that needs to be renewed, or under the account of someone who has left. Use a shared account for everything in production, and make sure someone is notified when the connection needs to be renewed.
The flow is built on the assumption that a field is always populated, and then one day it is empty. Or a text is longer than the field it is supposed to go into. Add checks for the fields the flow actually depends on instead of making assumptions.
A field was renamed, a folder was moved, or access was restricted. The flow was not taken into consideration because no one knew it existed. This is a good reason to maintain an overview of what is running.
Set up error notifications to be sent to a shared mailbox. Otherwise, the problem will only be discovered when someone asks why they have not received their notification for three weeks.
