What is the difference between a base license and an attach license?
This is one of the most overlooked discounts in Dynamics 365, and it can add up to a lot.
If a user needs both Sales and Customer Service, you pay full price for the first and a much lower rate for the second. The more expensive app should be the base app.
The apps are often purchased one at a time, a year apart. The second app is then set up as the base because no one checked. The discount is available, but it is not applied automatically.
If you have multiple apps in use, ask for an overview of which licenses are assigned as base and attach licenses for each user. It’s a half-hour task that often uncovers savings.
