The session moved from a general introduction to a concrete agent that used business data in the conversation. The demonstration showed that answer quality depends on which sources the agent can access, how the content is structured and which questions the solution is meant to handle.

What this means for the organisation

Before connecting an agent to production data, an organisation should clarify access, ownership and maintenance. A bounded task makes it possible to check answers, find gaps in the knowledge base and decide when a person should take over.

The live configuration went beyond a general product presentation by connecting the agent to data stored in Dynamics 365. It exposed three dependencies: correct access, an understandable data foundation and clear limits on questions. Without those boundaries, fluent dialogue can conceal that an answer lacks support in the sources.

Microsoft’s November 2023 announcement positions Copilot Studio as a tool for customising or building copilots with organisational data and workflows. It records the vendor’s product direction. The webinar offers narrower evidence by showing how Dynamics data was connected and which configuration choices arose.

A bounded agent should have a defined question set, named data sources and a response for cases the sources do not cover. Test logs need to show both answers and the data used. Before enabling more actions, the organisation should verify that access follows the same rules as Dynamics 365.
