Realtime offers more opportunities for automation, reporting, and smarter processes. But all these benefits depend on one thing: your data being structured—and understood—correctly.
The upgrade to Realtime Marketing is, of course, about more than just technology. For users, this is an opportunity to take advantage of far better tools for using data, engaging with customers, and creating automated journeys.
When Microsoft shuts down the old Outbound features in the summer of 2025, it is important to consider not only what is disappearing, but also the new opportunities you will gain access to.
What's new?
The Realtime functionality enables much more personalized and targeted customer communication. It facilitates real-time communication based on customer behavior—not just predefined times.
Segmentation has improved and is now dynamic, and you can use a single shared database for all activities. In addition, consent management has become both more precise and more transparent through so-called "compliance profiles", which strengthens compliance with the GDPR and other data protection requirements.
The user experience is also better, with a simplified workflow and access to continuous product improvements, as Realtime is one of Microsoft’s key focus areas going forward. Read more about the new capabilities in Customer Insights
