Frode Stenstrøm and Adrian Sjøholt tested Google, OpenAI and Anthropic AI models on real project-planning tasks, from requirements to a presentation.
Frode Stenstrøm and solution architect Adrian Sjøholt spent a 2025 recording series showing how Google Gemini, OpenAI and Anthropic Claude can support the planning phase of a project. The demonstration followed a fictional customer project for "Miljøpilotene", with a colleague playing the customer Marianne in a Teams meeting that was later transcribed and fed back into the models.
The models were given the same contract, meeting notes and prompts, and produced a requirements document (PRD), a milestone plan, a work breakdown structure and Gantt chart in Mermaid syntax, plus a resource breakdown and responsibility matrix. Speed and writing quality were compared throughout, and the outputs were pasted into Mermaid Live and Microsoft Loop for visualization.
OpenAI was consistently the fastest, Google Gemini gave the most comprehensive answers, and Anthropic Claude wrote the most precisely despite the highest per-token cost. Finally, they tried generating a kickoff presentation with Copilot and the other models, and Copilot was the only one that produced a finished PowerPoint file. The series is relevant for project managers considering language models for planning work.
