Stand-ups keep the project team aligned through brief, frequent check-ins. Use this approach throughout the implementation phase, normally weekly and daily during more intensive periods.
Have the project manager open the meeting with information of general importance from the past week, as well as any changes to priorities going forward.
Give each participant no more than three minutes to answer: What have I accomplished since last time, what am I going to do now, and what obstacles are standing in the way of my progress?
Make sure the meeting never lasts more than 30 minutes—it should be short enough to be held standing up.
Make sure that all information and updates from the meeting are entered back into DevOps immediately afterward.
Assess whether a weekly stand-up is sufficient or whether the period calls for daily stand-ups—for example, when launching a new application.
Use the obstacles mentioned in the meeting to identify risks before they affect progress, and escalate them outside the meeting if necessary.
