The programme draft

The seminar was planned in Oslo on 24 September 2024 around resource management in Dynamics 365 Field Service. The programme covered scheduling field work, available capacity and equipment visibility. Norsk Heiskontroll was mentioned as a possible contributor in the draft.

What this means for the organisation

For a field-service organisation, planning must connect skills, geography, agreements and parts to each job. The programme therefore points beyond a scheduling board: data quality and clear prioritisation rules determine whether the plan works in daily operations.

The draft programme grouped technician scheduling, availability and equipment into the same resource picture. This shows why field service requires more than calendar capacity. Skills, location, duration and materials must be connected to the job before an optimised plan can be assessed against actual delivery.

Microsoft’s Field Service plan describes vendor capabilities planned for the period, including scheduling and support for field work. The seminar draft shows which problems the organisers chose to prioritise locally. The sources serve different purposes: the plan records product direction, while the programme records timing, topic and announced content.

A realistic trial should include jobs with different geography, skills, duration and material needs. Plans can be assessed against travel time, rescheduling and completion, as well as quality and workload. This shows whether better capacity visibility resolves a bottleneck or simply moves it elsewhere.
