The insufficient permissions message is not very informative, but it contains more information than people realize. Here’s how to read it.
The details in the message usually indicate which table and operation were denied. This makes troubleshooting specific rather than a matter of guesswork.
Creating or linking two records, or changing the owner, requires different permissions. The action indicates which permission to look for.
Go to the user's roles and find the table mentioned in the error message. If the operation is missing there, you have found the cause.
Linking one entry to another requires permissions for both. The error often mentions only one of them, while the other is the one for which permissions are actually missing.
The user may have read access, but only to their own records. The action concerned a colleague's record, so it is still denied.
Correct the issue, then try again with an account that has the same role. Confirm that it works before marking the case as resolved.
