For large agreements and complex matters, a Teams channel brings documents and discussions together in one place. Here is the setup and the choices that determine whether it stays organized.
Not every sales opportunity needs its own room. Use it for major deals and cases involving many people—otherwise, you'll end up with a hundred channels that no one follows.
From the record in Dynamics 365, you connect to a team and a channel. The customer card is then available in the channel, and those working there can see the context without opening the CRM.
Documents associated with the record may be stored in either Teams or SharePoint. Choose one location and stick to it—having documents in both places is the most common reason people end up working on different versions.
Decisions made in chat must be added to the record to be preserved. Agree that anything important should be summarized in the CRM — chat is the conversation, CRM is the memory.
A completed agreement should not have an active channel. Archive it to preserve the history without cluttering the overview.
