Check the customer, equipment, symptom, contact, access and expected outcome. Review earlier attempts. Ask the planner to clarify essential missing information before committing travel time.
Identify three facts that must be confirmed for this visit. An empty field is a question, not evidence that the requirement does not apply.
Check availability and reservations using the organisation's routine. Confirm appropriate skills and equipment. Include travel and follow-through alongside execution time.
Practice case: You need two parts, but one of the two in stock is reserved for another order. Report the shortage; do not treat all stock as available.
Confirm the intended outcome and whether conditions have changed. Follow approved access and working procedures. If more work is needed than agreed, obtain a decision from the right role before extending scope.
Record the observation and required decision. Keep new work separate from the original scope until it is agreed.
Record findings, actions, parts and actual time according to team rules. Capture only relevant, permitted photos and notes. Report delays early so the planner can manage the next customer commitment.
Distinguish the symptom, action taken and verified outcome. Avoid writing only 'fixed' when another colleague must understand what happened.
Explain completed work and limitations. Agree any further work and who will follow up. Check documentation before marking the visit ready for the next processing stage.
Use: outcome / parts / time / exception / customer update / next owner. A return visit needs a reason and an owner, not only a verbal agreement.
