Automation is a key factor in achieving an efficient and seamless order process. When technology handles routine tasks, employees can focus on more value-adding activities.
Solution: Automated order processing
By using AI to automate parts of its order processing, Jets has already saved many hours of manual work. The AI assistant checks incoming orders, validates product information, and flags any missing information for manual follow-up. Jets estimates that it saves at least 400 hours per year thanks to automated order processing. See a demo of the solution
In the next phase of the solution, customer data validation and more advanced features will also be introduced.
"We are seeing tangible benefits and feel that we have gained much better control over the processes!" – Trond Jarnes, Business System Director at Jets Group
The way forward
Part of the need for automation stemmed from Jets' growth plans, particularly in the aftermarket. The manufacturing company can now increase its order processing capacity without necessarily increasing its workforce accordingly.
Jets Group is already exploring opportunities to expand the use of AI across more areas of the business, including inventory forecasting, smarter order prioritization, and automated communication in the event of discrepancies.

About the customer
Jets Group is an international company with around 200 employees, 150 of whom are based at its headquarters in Hareid, near Ålesund in Sunnmøre.
The challenge: Orders with many line items
At Jets, the pace is fast and customer order volumes are high. Customer orders are often complex and contain many order lines.
Manual order processing was time-consuming and made it difficult to work efficiently. Jets needed a better process to save time and free up resources!
Commitment from both management and employees has been crucial to the success of the AI project. Here, the Business System Director is pictured with colleagues at Jets Group.

Insights and advice from Jets
Trond Jarnes, Business System Director at Jets Group, believes the most important thing is to start small and build on it step by step. “Don’t expect to create the perfect solution in the first version,” he says. Start with one specific task and learn as you go.
He also emphasizes the importance of choosing strong business cases, having the support of senior management, and involving engaged employees. “Remember the human element! Break the elephant down and tackle it one piece at a time,” he adds.
Small projects that deliver clear results spark curiosity and drive AI adoption.
