How do you sign in to Dynamics 365?

Required tools

• Work account in Microsoft Entra ID — Use the same username and password as for Microsoft 365.
• Dynamics 365 license and security role — Both must be assigned by an administrator at your organization.

Sign in

1. 1.Go to the organization's own address

   The address has the format https://organisasjon.crmregionkode.dynamics.com. The region code depends on where the environment is located—European environments typically use crm4. Bookmark the correct address right away if you have multiple environments.

2. 2.Or use the app launcher in Microsoft 365

   Select the app launcher in the upper-left corner of Microsoft 365. There you’ll find the Dynamics 365 apps you have access to. This is the easiest option for those who don’t remember the environment URL.

3. 3.Enter the work account

   Use your work email address, not a personal Microsoft account. If your organization uses two-factor authentication, confirm as usual in the authenticator app.

When it doesn't work

1. 4.Check the license before troubleshooting further

   In our experience, the password is rarely the problem. Without a Dynamics 365 license, you won't be able to log in, no matter how correct your password is. The quickest way to resolve this is to contact whoever manages licenses in your organization.

2. 5.Can you get in, but can't see anything?

   If you see fewer apps than your colleagues, or the app opens without any data, the issue is almost always related to security roles. The license gets you through the door; the security role determines what you can see once you are inside. Your system administrator must assign the correct role.

3. 6.Make sure you're in the correct environment

   If you have both test and production environments, it is entirely possible to log in to the wrong environment and wonder where the data went. Check the address in your browser against the one you were supposed to use.
