The solution structure determines how easy it will be to deliver changes in the years ahead. This guide presents a structure that remains robust as the solution grows.
Do this before anyone creates a single table. The default prefix “new” stays with the components permanently and cannot be changed later.
One solution for sales customizations, one for customer service, and one for shared components. If you organize them according to who built something, the structure becomes meaningless the day that person leaves.
Tables and fields used by multiple areas belong in a shared solution that the others depend on. Without this, the same component ends up in two packages, making the deployment order unpredictable.
Everything ends up there by default, and it cannot be distributed properly. Always select the correct solution before you start making any changes.
If you include entire tables when you only changed one field, the deployment includes more than necessary and increases the risk. Add individual components where possible.
Write down which solution must be imported first. A year from now, no one will remember, and importing them in the wrong order causes import errors that are difficult to interpret.
