How long does it take to implement a CRM system?
It is impossible to answer the question precisely without knowing the scope, but there are some typical scenarios.
One module, standard functionality, limited data migration, and up to a few dozen users. This is entirely achievable if you are willing to use the standard process rather than recreate your current one.
Two modules, some integrations, migration from an existing system, and multiple departments with different needs. This is where most medium-sized Norwegian businesses end up.
Multiple modules, extensive ERP integration, many users across several countries, or strict traceability requirements. In such cases, the delivery should be divided into phases.
Not the configuration. What matters is how quickly you can make decisions about processes, how good the data is, and how much time key personnel can actually set aside. Projects that fall behind schedule almost always do so because of one of these three factors.
Set an initial delivery target that is small enough to achieve within a couple of months. A solution that is actually in use creates momentum in a way no project plan can.
