Which activities can be registered in Dynamics 365?

Activities are the small records that together make up the history. They appear on the timeline of the record they are linked to.

The five types

Task for something that needs to be done. Phone call and appointment for something that has happened. Email tracked from Outlook. And note for anything that does not fit into any of them.

Link them to the right place

An activity on the customer record tells you that something happened. An activity on the sales opportunity tells you what happened in that deal. The latter is far more valuable when someone needs to take over.

Record what matters

Not everything needs to be recorded. One sentence about what was agreed is worth more than ten automated log entries that no one reads.
