How much does it cost to run apps in Power Platform?
Power Platform pricing is complex, but the most common mistake is to consider only licensing costs.
Licensing per user or per app, and storage in Dataverse. Some connections to systems outside Microsoft also require a more expensive license type — it’s worth checking before you build, not after.
Maintenance when the process changes. Troubleshooting when something stops working. Taking over when the person who built it leaves. In our experience, this costs more than the license over the course of a few years, and it is the part no one budgets for.
Apps with no owner that are still in use. You end up paying for licenses for something no one dares to change or shut down. Requiring a named owner from day one is the most cost-effective step you can take.
