What is a service agreement in Field Service?

A service agreement describes what you will do for a customer, how often, and at what price. Field Service generates the work orders based on it.

What it contains

Contract period, the equipment covered, the tasks to be performed, and how often. Pricing terms can be included in the contract so that generated orders have the correct price.

Bookings are generated in advance

The agreement creates work orders for the upcoming period based on the configured notification period. This allows the planner to assign them well in advance instead of handling each one as it becomes due.

Where Things Go Wrong

If the agreement is activated without checking the intervals, hundreds of orders will be generated at once. Test it on one customer first.

Why it pays off

Recurring maintenance provides predictable revenue and a steady workload for technicians. If it is handled manually, it only gets done when someone remembers.
